Chesney Grimes
Born and raised in the heart of northeast Oklahoma, Chesney Grimes has spent her life immersed in the values and traditions that define the Western way of life. From an early age, she was instilled with the importance of family, hard work, and the sense of community that Oklahoma’s ranching and rodeo culture foster. As Miss Rodeo Oklahoma 2024, Chesney is dedicated to passing down these values to the next generation, teaching them the lessons of respect, courage, optimism, and self-reliance that are so deeply rooted in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Western lifestyle.
Chesney’s upbringing in Oklahoma has shaped her passion for agriculture, rodeo, and everything that the West represents. Growing up in a state where rodeo is a beloved tradition, Chesney quickly fell in love with the sport, appreciating not just the thrill of the competition, but the camaraderie and sportsmanship that define rodeo culture. As a proud representative of the sport, she seeks to inspire others to embrace its core values, while encouraging young people to get involved and pursue their dreams, just as she has.
In addition to her love for rodeo, Chesney is highly dedicated to academics. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Oklahoma State University, where she honed her passion for science and healthcare. Building on her desire to make a difference, Chesney is currently pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. This academic path reflects her commitment to improving the lives of others, and her long-term goal is to contribute to advancements in cancer research and medication. Chesney is passionate about raising awareness for cancer treatment innovations, and she plans to use her platform as Miss Rodeo Oklahoma 2024 to encourage others to remain hopeful in the face of adversity.
Her platform, “Live Like There’s No Tomorrow,” is a reflection of the optimism and resilience she strives to inspire in everyone she meets. Chesney believes that every person has the power to make the most of each day, to face challenges with determination, and to never give up on their dreams.
