About
Ashley Kerby
Ashley Kerby, crowned Miss Rodeo Idaho 2024, embodies the spirit of the West in every sense. A lifelong lover of the western lifestyle, she is passionate about the traditions of rodeo, agriculture, and the close-knit community that binds Idaho’s people. As the new titleholder, she is not just a representative of rodeo but also of the state’s thriving equine industry and the agricultural backbone that sustains the Gem State. Throughout her reign, she will travel thousands of miles across Idaho, connecting with communities, showcasing the essence of professional rodeo, and promoting the rich history and future of Idaho’s agricultural heritage.
Born and raised in Kuna, Idaho, Ashley is the proud daughter of Leroy and Quyann Kerby. From a young age, she was immersed in the values of hard work, dedication, and an unyielding love for horses, all of which define the western way of life. As Miss Rodeo Idaho 2024, Ashley will travel extensively throughout the year, attending rodeos, fairs, and events where she will advocate for Idaho’s equine and agricultural industries, as well as the importance of preserving the western traditions she cherishes. Her journey as Miss Rodeo Idaho started in July 2023 when she won the prestigious title at the 108th annual Snake River Stampede in Nampa. The weeklong pageant tested her skills in horseback riding, public speaking, current events knowledge, and general rodeo acumen. Ashley’s outstanding performance earned her the crown, and she was officially named Miss Rodeo Idaho 2024.
A 22-year-old graduate of the University of Idaho, Ashley holds a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Her academic pursuits align with her deep passion for animals and veterinary care, specifically large animal medicine. Ashley’s dream is to continue her education in veterinary school and become a doctor of veterinary medicine, specializing in the care of large animals like horses and cattle. In recognition of her dedication and achievements, Ashley has earned over $9,000 in scholarship money through the Miss Rodeo Idaho organization. These funds will be instrumental in helping her achieve her goals of higher education and veterinary practice.
Beyond her academic and professional aspirations, she is an avid outdoors enthusiast. Whether horseback riding across the Idaho landscape or hiking through its rugged terrain, she has always felt at home in nature. An adventure seeker at heart, Ashley’s love of travel has taken her around the world. One of her most memorable experiences was traveling to Thailand, where she expanded her knowledge of animal care at an elephant sanctuary. This hands-on experience with exotic large animals further fueled her passion for veterinary science and deepened her understanding of animal welfare on a global scale.
As Miss Rodeo Idaho 2024, Ashley is not just a figurehead; she is a passionate ambassador for Idaho’s agricultural community and the world of professional rodeo. Through her travels and public appearances, Ashley will promote the values of hard work, dedication, and community that make Idaho unique. Whether attending local rodeos, county fairs, or representing Idaho at the Miss Rodeo America pageant in Las Vegas in December 2024, Ashley’s mission is to showcase the importance of the western way of life and the vitality of agriculture and equine industries that are so deeply woven into the fabric of Idaho’s economy and culture.
The Miss Rodeo Idaho organization has long played a pivotal role in promoting rodeo and agriculture, and Ashley’s reign will continue that legacy. Her travels, public speaking, and involvement in events require significant funding to cover her expenses, and she is grateful for the support of her sponsors and donors. The Miss Rodeo Idaho program is made possible through the generous contributions of those who believe in its mission. For those who are unable to attend Ashley’s coronation celebration but still wish to support her, donations and sponsorship opportunities are available. Your support will directly contribute to Ashley’s travels, expenses, and her efforts to represent Idaho with pride throughout her year as Miss Rodeo Idaho.
With Ashley Kerby at the helm, the future of Miss Rodeo Idaho is in great hands, and the west will be well-represented in the year ahead.
