About
Georgia Strimenos
Georgia Strimenos, the newly crowned Miss Rodeo Colorado 2024, is a shining example of how the western lifestyle can inspire and empower anyone, regardless of background. At just 22 years old, she has already made a significant impact in the world of rodeo and equestrian sports, and she’s excited to continue sharing her passion for the western way of life with others across the state of Colorado and beyond.
Raised in the beautiful foothills of Larkspur, Colorado, Georgia grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of the West. She is the daughter of George and Jenny Strimenos and spent her childhood alongside her older brother, Austin, and many beloved four-legged friends. While her family did not have a traditional ranching background, Georgia developed an early connection to animals and the outdoors, and it was through 4-H that her passion for rodeo and the western lifestyle truly began to take root.
“I was active in 4-H for eight years, showing horses, alpacas, and poultry,” Georgia recalls. “That was a big part of my childhood and really opened my eyes to the world of rodeo and working with animals.” 4-H wasn’t just about raising animals for Georgia—it was where she learned important lessons about responsibility, leadership, and community. These experiences laid the foundation for her future involvement in rodeo, where she would soon learn that the sport is about much more than just competition.
Her love for the western lifestyle, coupled with her desire to learn and grow, eventually led Georgia to pursue a degree in communications at the University of Wyoming. While at the university, Georgia joined the equestrian team, where she competed in both English and western events as part of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA). Competing on the equestrian team was particularly special to Georgia because it allowed her to challenge herself in multiple disciplines, riding a variety of horses. “It taught me to adapt and improve my skills, whether I was riding in an English saddle or competing in a western event,” she says. “It also helped me grow as a person, learning to work with different horses and riders, and giving me the confidence to take on any challenge.”
But perhaps the most important lesson that Georgia learned along the way was that anyone can embrace the western lifestyle, no matter their background. As a first-generation cowgirl, she has witnessed firsthand how rodeo and the values of the West can inspire people from all walks of life. “You don’t have to come from a ranching family to love the western way of life,” Georgia explains. “It’s about embracing hard work, perseverance, and respect for the land, animals, and community.” These values have shaped her deeply, and now as Miss Rodeo Colorado, she is on a mission to share them with as many people as possible.
“The Code of the West is something that is instilled in me through the people in my community,” she says. “It’s about treating others with respect, working hard, and always showing up for those who need you. I want to share that message with others, especially the younger generation in Colorado, to help them understand the values that make the western lifestyle so special.”
In addition to her duties as Miss Rodeo Colorado, Georgia is also dedicated to promoting rodeo’s role in preserving western traditions. “Rodeo is more than just a sport—it’s a celebration of our heritage, a way of life that has been passed down through generations. I want to help others see how important it is to keep these traditions alive.” Her vision for the future includes teaching others the values of rodeo, showing them how they can be part of a community that cares deeply about preserving the culture of the West.
Georgia Strimenos is an outstanding ambassador for the western way of life. As Miss Rodeo Colorado 2024, she is ready to take on the role of inspiring others, embracing new challenges, and continuing to serve as a role model for young cowgirls and cowboys who are just beginning their journey into the world of rodeo.
